Briefing 10k race – Wine Run 2022
Briefing Carrera 10K10k race (9,5km)
The race runs along a dirt road and a track. Only in the town of Labastida will there be asphalt. The route starts with an ascent from the beginning to reach the highest point at kilometre 4.2 and then descends towards the finish line. It is worth starting out with your strength in the first few kilometres, although we can assure you that the beauty of the landscape is the best remedy for smoothing out the slopes. The cumulative difference in altitude is 279 metres. The first kilometre runs along the main street of Labastida and its wall. Special attention should be paid to the 200 metres after leaving the wall street and turning left. This first kilometre ends with a very tough 200-metre climb out of the village. Afterwards, a short, steep descent until you enter the vineyard.
The next 4 kilometres are on a track that climbs steadily towards the Remelluri area, with several gentle bends at first, then a straight stretch that can be tough. The road in this area has a few trial paths. Nothing serious, but we must be careful.
We reach Remelluri at km 3.6. We continue up through a farm and the path turns to the left, the slope becomes a little gentler and we face one of the most spectacular stretches, at the foot of the Sierra de Cantabria and with the vineyards on our left. After passing through a slightly wooded area, at km 4.07 we face the last steep climb of 200 metres that allows us to reach the pass through which we change valleys.
We start the descent at km 4.4. Be careful on the first 20 metres. The path has some rolling and trial paths.
At km 5, water supply and start of the descent on a narrow dirt track, but without irregularities. It is a path that goes down the slope of the mountain leaving a landscape of terraced vineyards to our right.
At km 6.7 we enter Labastida via Calle del Arco, at the foot of the Cristo hermitage. The descent becomes steeper inside the village. We pass the Bodegas Tierra y Gontés winery.
After a few bends, we face a 200 metre steep slope to continue down towards the finish line.
Km 8. We pass the Solagüen winery. Pay attention at the exit of the barrel room: there are 4 steps before going outside.
Km 10 (9.5km). We reach the finish line after passing through several streets of the town’s housing estates.
