In 2026, the start and finish lines for all events will be located in Samaniego, a small town with a deep-rooted winemaking spirit, situated in the heart of Rioja Alavesa at the foot of the Sierra de Toloño mountains. Surrounded by vineyards and open landscapes, Samaniego retains the tranquil character of the region's stone villages, featuring well-kept streets that invite leisurely strolls and a history closely tied to wine.

A walk through the town center reveals a place that still bears traces of its past as a border town between Navarre and Castile. Key landmarks include the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción—built in the second half of the 16th century next to the old fortification—the Casa de los Diezmos (Tithe House), and the Samaniego Palace.

Nestled between the Sierra de Cantabria and the Ebro River, in the south of Álava, lies Rioja Alavesa — a narrow strip of vineyards, soulful villages, and breathtaking views.
